Terms of Use

Last updated: September 23, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Just Tournaments (the "Service"). By creating an Organizer account, checking in to a tournament as a Contestant, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. See also our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we use it.

The Service

Just Tournaments lets an Organizer create and run a tournament - building brackets, generating QR codes for self-service check-in, recording match results, and displaying live leaderboards and spectator/TV views. A Contestant can check in and participate without creating an account.

The core features needed to run a tournament are free.

Accounts

Organizer accounts require a valid email address. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account, including tournaments, contestant data, and match results your account creates or edits. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Contestants don't have accounts. A Contestant's ongoing access to their own check-in, match history, and standings depends on the device cookie described in our Privacy Policy - if that cookie is lost (e.g. a cleared browser or a new device), the Service may offer a self-service relink option tied to the original check-in, but we can't guarantee recovery in every case.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to harass, impersonate, or harm others;
  • Enter false or misleading match results with intent to manipulate a tournament you're not authorized to control;
  • Attempt to disrupt the Service - for example, scripting excessive check-ins, probing for vulnerabilities, or overloading the check-in/scan endpoints;
  • Use another Contestant's or Organizer's identity, device cookie, or QR code without authorization;
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate access - an Organizer's account, a specific tournament, or a Contestant's check-in - if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

Organizer responsibility for tournament content

As an Organizer, you control what goes into your tournament: its name, description, notes, game list, and the names of Contestants checked in (whether entered by the player or by you on their behalf). You're responsible for having the right to enter that information into the Service, including - as described in our Privacy Policy - obtaining appropriate permission before entering a child's name for a family or youth event. You're also responsible for your tournament's rules, fairness, and any prizes or stakes you choose to run outside the Service; Just Tournaments only provides the check-in, bracket, and scoring tooling.

Availability

We aim to keep the Service running reliably, but it's provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without uptime guarantees. Scheduled maintenance, restarts, or unexpected outages can happen, and live features (such as the real-time leaderboard, spectator displays, and bracket updates) depend on an active connection to the Service. We're not liable for a tournament being interrupted by downtime, though we'll work to minimize it.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Just Tournaments will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including disputes between Organizers and Contestants, lost tournament data, or lost access due to a cleared device cookie. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of Oregon USA in which Just Tournaments operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
